How To Spot A Fake 1985 Star Jordan All-Rookie Team Card

The 1985-86 Star All-Rookie Team subset is one of the more popular Star subset issues due to containing a key first-year subset issue of Michael Jordan (#2). While I have not seen any major counterfeits of this card, there are a few things to consider.

The one significant thing to be aware of relates to the Shop At Home scandal, which saw two identical-looking Jordan cards. One is part of a Rookie Of The Year subset (shown on the left), and the other is a reproduction of the All-Rookie Team subset set. Here is what those Shop-At-Home Cards look like.  

Be sure to avoid these Shop At Home cards. Recall that these were sold on the Shop At Home Network and claimed to have been original print runs. However, they were printed many years later, and Robert Levin completely misrepresented and defrauded collectors who purchased the card.
